One of NCR’s most awarded and celebrated Durga Puja events, Balaka Durgotsav, returns this year in its 17th edition with a spectacular new theme: Europe in Noida. From 27th September to 1st October 2025, Sector 61 in Noida will come alive with five days of devotion, artistry, and cultural celebration, welcoming lakhs of visitors across Delhi-NCR.

At the heart of this year’s festivities will be a magnificent 70-foot-high and 60-foot-wide mandap, inspired by the Cybele Palace of Madrid, one of Europe’s most iconic landmarks. The elevation, combined with the idol of Goddess Durga and her family in Greek artistry shades, promises to be a breathtaking fusion of Indian spirituality and European elegance.

“Every year, Balaka pushes the boundaries of imagination,” said the President of Balaka Committee.

“This year we go global — blending the grandeur of Europe with the spirit of Durga Puja in Noida. It is not just a pandal; it is a cultural statement.”

Adding to the grandeur, Chandannagar lighting — world famous for its dazzling illumination — will transform the arena. A huge light pathway will greet every visitor, enhancing the European flavour and creating a visual spectacle unlike anything seen before in NCR.

Balaka has always been as much about culture as devotion, and 2025 will be no exception. Starting from Panchami this year, the extra day will allow for an even more vibrant cultural showcase.

The lineup includes 100+ classical dancers across Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi, along with 50+ vocalists ranging from young children to senior citizens. Visitors can expect everything from youth bands to Rabindra Sangeet, from dance dramas to traditional theatre.

“Our festival has always been about people — children, youth, senior citizens, Bengalis, non-Bengalis, everyone comes together here,” said the Secretary of the Committee. “With Chandannagar lights, Greek artistry, and Madrid’s Cybele Palace as inspiration, we are creating an experience that will stay in people’s hearts forever.”

And while the cultural line-up is strong, visitors can also look forward to a special surprise each evening — with one celebrity performance daily, carefully curated to span genres from folk and Bengali traditional to Bollywood and crowd favourites.

Inclusivity remains central to Balaka’s spirit. Over 70% of the performers this year are non-Bengalis, making the festival a true celebration of India’s diversity. Continuing its tradition of community service, Balaka will also support artisans from West Bengal, giving them a platform to showcase and sustain their craft.

“Balaka Durgotsav is where devotion meets creativity, and inclusivity meets excellence,” noted the

Cultural Convenor. “We invite everyone in NCR to witness and be part of this grand European journey.”
